1. If you don’t mind skipping tradition and prefer to see each other before the ceremony (which I highly encourage), then you should definitely consider a pre-ceremony first look and photo session; this will help you both relax and enjoy the rest of the day, plus it takes the tension out for a perfect cocktail hour with your guests.
  2. Have a list of the photos you want in general, but not to the point of madness. Definitely trust your photographers and their lead, remember they are the experts.
  3. Resonating with the above, have a designated family member or friend who knows the very important people in your family and in your life, as well as the must-have shoots. This person will be the connection between planner and photographers so you don’t have to worry about a thing.
  4. Be on time for your ceremony, and plan accordingly. Leave extra time to get ready, re-touch, have lunch, etc. Do not rush.
  5. Have a casual photo session before the wedding; this will make everyone more comfortable on the wedding day.
  6. Enjoy the day, and remember what it’s really about. The camera will capture joy, happiness, gratitude and beauty only if you are really feeling that way.
