- If you don’t mind skipping tradition and prefer to see each other before the ceremony (which I highly encourage), then you should definitely consider a pre-ceremony first look and photo session; this will help you both relax and enjoy the rest of the day, plus it takes the tension out for a perfect cocktail hour with your guests.
- Have a list of the photos you want in general, but not to the point of madness. Definitely trust your photographers and their lead, remember they are the experts.
- Resonating with the above, have a designated family member or friend who knows the very important people in your family and in your life, as well as the must-have shoots. This person will be the connection between planner and photographers so you don’t have to worry about a thing.
- Be on time for your ceremony, and plan accordingly. Leave extra time to get ready, re-touch, have lunch, etc. Do not rush.
- Have a casual photo session before the wedding; this will make everyone more comfortable on the wedding day.
- Enjoy the day, and remember what it’s really about. The camera will capture joy, happiness, gratitude and beauty only if you are really feeling that way.
